LFAC Shares a Pet Owners Story

I would like to tell everyone about a wonderful non-profit, Living for a Cause, who saved my little Bella's life. My little Bella is a 15 lb. Shih Tzu who was thrown away by her owner on New Year's Eve 2014. She has many health problems (collapsed trachea, congestive heart failure, & bad allergies). She has brought so much joy & happiness into our lives.

Bella's medications cost me $140.00 a month from my vet. I live on a very small social security & struggle each month to make ends meet. We ran out of Bella's medications about a week ago; had no money to get her heart medications and Bella was really getting sick from not having them. I was so upset as I did not want her suffering because I could not get her medication.

When I was about to lose all hope of getting Bella's medications, a very special woman called me from an organization called: '"Living for a Cause" – her name is Mary- and she helped me find a cheaper pharmacy to obtain these medications. But I still didn't have enough money to get them. Mary called the vet to renew Bella's medications, had them sent to the cheaper pharmacy to fill and Living for a Cause paid for both the needed prescriptions at a much lower price. Mary also gave me a few websites for additional help to get future medications for Bella cheaper than buying them at my vets.

I did not know of her organization but I am so very grateful for what she did for a stranger's dog. Mary co-founded Living for a Cause to help dogs & cats with medications and food and to educate the public about money saving places to contact for prescriptions in order for owners to help their pets stay healthy and with their family.
